About Our Client
Our client is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering high-quality training services across Queensland's resource sector. With a strong reputation throughout the Bowen Basin, they provide training solutions to major mining operators and contractors, supporting the development of skilled and safety-focused workforces.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Trainer & Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessments to mining personnel across both classroom and operational site environments. You will support workforce development by ensuring participants gain the knowledge, skills and competencies required to perform their roles safely and effectively.
- Delivering engaging classroom-based training sessions and practical site-based assessments
- Conducting inductions, refresher training and competency assessments
- Coaching and mentoring personnel to improve capability and performance on site
- Assessing participant competency in accordance with nationally recognised standards and training packages
- Maintaining accurate training records, assessment documentation and compliance requirements
- Delivering training in areas including Site Inductions, Area Familiarisations, Working at Heights, Confined Space, LVR/CPR, First Aid and other mining-related competencies within your scope of expertise
- Supporting safe work practices and promoting a strong safety culture across mining operations
- Working closely with site leaders and operational teams to identify and address training needs
- Ensuring all training is delivered in accordance with RTO, legislative and client requirements
What You Will Need
- Minimum 3 years experience within the Trainer Assessor Open Cut Coal Mining sector
- Proven training facilitation experience:
- Minimum Crew Trainer (TAEASS401, TAEASS402, TAEASS403 and TAEDEL401 competencies); or
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (equivalent or higher)
- High Risk Work Licence is desirable but not mandatory
- Current Coal Board Medical
- Current Standard 11
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor personnel
- Strong communication, presentation and time-management skills
- Self-motivated, reliable and safety-focused approach

- Non-Teaching Duties $50.00/hr
- Local Training Only $60.00/hr
- On-Site Training Only $80.00/hr
- Travel Time $40.00/hr (applicable when conducting training more than one hour from your place of residence)
