As a Senior Economic Development Officer, you contribute to the State Development team by supporting responsible economic development. This is your chance to be part of a team that supports new industry development, attracts new investors to Queensland, works with existing business to be part of major projects and contributes to the economic prosperity of the region. Your responsibilities:
• Identify capable, proactive businesses in the region and provide them with information on opportunities to support growth, recent investment and increase participation in supply chains.
• Refer and assist businesses to programs and services.
• Promote supply chain opportunities, particularly in the target sectors of Defence, Biomedical and Biofuels sectors.
• Leverage your networks to facilitate and assist industry to connect with all levels of Government and to assist with project facilitation.
• Provide written briefings, submissions and documentation that may be required.
• Represent the department at meetings, committees and industry events as required, including building, and maintaining purposeful relationships with a diverse range of high growth businesses in Gold Coast, Logan and Redlands local government areas.
• Collect local intelligence information through regional networks and connections with industry, local government, Queensland Government agencies, peak industry bodies and other key stakeholders.
• Maximise local procurement on major projects by facilitating industry briefings and project forums to allow proponents to communicate project scope and tender requirements.
