About the Role:
- You'll provide evidence-based counselling interventions for children from prep through to Year 12 experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.
- Students will present with a range of needs, and will benefit from therapeutic interventions that build emotional wellbeing, strengthen coping skills, and support positive relationships and engagement in learning.
- The role may also involve delivering broader social, emotional and wellbeing services via group work, whole-year psychoeducation and whole-of-school wellbeing strategies.
- Successful outcomes for students will be achieved by helping their teachers and families understand their social and emotional needs,
and by establishing strong partnerships with community organisations to ensure they can access seamless and coordinated support.
- You'll have the prospect to work collaboratively with other school support staff in your school/s, and with other social workers through our region-wide network of wellbeing professionals.
- Your caseload will include working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, supporting their wellbeing and educational success through culturally-informed practices. A commitment to continuous cultural capability development will be essential in ensuring inclusive, respectful, and effective support tailored to their unique strengths and needs.
About You:
- Have experience delivering mental health interventions, or other therapeutic services, to children and adolescents
- Can manage a diverse caseload with a range of presentations and needs
- Are highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team
- Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for shortlisting in the selection process.
