Process / Production Engineer – Hands-On FMCG Manufacturing Role

Good People HR is partnering with an innovative Food & Pharmaceutical FMCG manufacturer in Melbourne to find a hands-on engineer who can make a genuine impact across production operations.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We’re looking for an engineer who enjoys being involved; walking the floor, understanding the equipment, troubleshooting issues, improving processes, installation work and delivering practical solutions.

About the Role

Reporting into the manufacturing team, you will play a key role in improving production efficiency, supporting equipment performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

You’ll be involved in:

- Optimising manufacturing processes and production performance

- Supporting and improving filling line operations

- Troubleshooting production equipment and process issues

- Leading equipment installation, commissioning and improvement projects

- Working closely with production, maintenance and engineering teams

- Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and reliability

- Supporting new equipment implementation from installation through to operation

What We’re Looking For

You’re a hands on, practical,



curious and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys being where the action happens and likes being on the tools.

To be successful, you will have:

✔ A degree qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
✔ 3–5 years’ experience within manufacturing, FMCG (food or pharmaceuticals) or a high-volume production environment
✔ Solid hands-on experience with production equipment and machinery
✔ Proven experience working with filling lines (essential)
✔ Experience with equipment installation, commissioning and implementation (must have)
✔ The ability to troubleshoot issues and work through problems on the factory floor
✔ A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on practical outcomes
✔ Strong communication skills, friendly demeanour and the confidence to work with operators, maintenance and production teams
