We are seeking a versatile and reliable Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team in Wentworthville, NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst contributing meaningfully to our dental practice. In this dual role, you will be the cornerstone of our front-of-house operations and clinical support, ensuring our patients receive exceptional care from their first interaction to their final appointment. You will work across both receptionist and dental assistant duties, providing administrative excellence and chairside support as needed. This position is vital to maintaining the smooth operation of our practice and delivering the high-quality patient experience our clinic is known for.
What you'll be doing
As a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients warmly and professionally, managing appointment bookings and scheduling
- Processing patient payments and handling administrative records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assisting dentists chairside during procedures, including preparing instruments and materials
- Maintaining sterilisation protocols and ensuring all clinical instruments are properly cleaned and ready for use
- Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) when required
- Providing chairside support to ensure patient comfort and safety during treatments
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional clinical environment
- Managing patient records and ensuring compliance with dental practice standards
- Answering patient enquiries and providing general information about dental services
- Supporting the dental team in ensuring smooth daily operations
What we're looking for
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (or willingness to obtain qualification)
- Previous experience in a dental practice environment, ideally in both reception and clinical support roles
- Robust communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with patients and team members
- Organisational ability and attention to detail, particularly when managing schedules and records
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
- Understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures in a dental setting
- Ability to work flexibly in a casual capacity, adapting to varying schedule requirements
- A patient-focused approach and genuine interest in providing exceptional customer service
- Reliability and punctuality
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
