Centacare North Queensland is seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our ROSA Program, providing therapeutic support to children and young people who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachment and are involved with the child protection system.

You'll enjoy:

- Starting salary of $92,286 per annum + $2,500 above award allowance (pro rata) + $200 sign on bonus

About the role

As a Counsellor, you will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and young people aged 6 to 18 years. Working alongside Child Safety, carers, schools and other key stakeholders, you will assess therapeutic needs,



develop individualised therapy plans and support positive outcomes through trauma-informed practice.

You will also play an important role in supporting each child's care team by providing education and strategies that promote emotional regulation, resilience and recovery.

What you'll be doing

- Provide trauma-informed counselling to children and young people.
- Complete therapeutic assessments and develop individual therapy plans.
- Work collaboratively with Child Safety, carers, schools and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate client records and case documentation.
- Monitor therapeutic progress and contribute to positive client outcomes.
- Advocate for children while working within best practice and legislative requirements.

About You

You are passionate about supporting children to overcome adversity and have the skills to engage young people using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

You'll also bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Science or a related discipline.
- Experience or knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory and child development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the Queensland Child Protection System (desirable).
- A current driver's licence.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
