About the Role
As a Teacher at Ohana College, you will deliver engaging learning experiences that meet students where they are, helping them build confidence, develop skills and achieve meaningful educational outcomes.
Working closely with our multidisciplinary team of Teacher Aides, Youth Workers and Wellbeing staff, you'll be supported to create positive learning experiences that focus on student success both inside and outside the classroom.
What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver engaging and differentiated learning programs aligned to the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students through a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
- Support students to achieve academic, personal and social goals.
- Work collaboratively with Teacher Aides,



Youth Workers and Wellbeing staff.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Selection Criteria -Teacher:

1. Demonstrate a flexible and highly engaging teaching approach with an emphasis on building relationships with challenging students to achieve academic outcomes.
2. Experience and knowledge of The Australian Curriculum.
3. Practical knowledge and understanding of the NCCD/EAP process and its implementation within the classroom (or a willingness to learn)
4. Current full teaching/provisional registration with Queensland College of Teachers or an ability to gain registration in Queensland.
5. Experience teaching and/or working with young people at-risk and students with disabilities.
6. Understanding of social and emotional learning in a Secondary School context.
7. Workplace resilience and an ability to work under pressure.

This is a permanent, full time role (5 days per week, 8:00 am - 3:36 pm). You will have 20 contact hours and 15 hours dedicated to the vital work of planning, meeting, and collaborating with your team.
