The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) is Australia's leading healthcare accreditation and quality improvement organisation. Through our Improvement Academy, we deliver education, training and consulting services to strengthen quality, safety, clinical governance and organisational performance.
We are seeking a motivated and capable Quality Consultant to join our Improvement Academy team. This role is ideal for a healthcare qualified with experience in quality improvement, accreditation, clinical governance or healthcare consulting who is looking to further develop their consulting career and contribute to meaningful improvements across the health sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Improvement Academy, you will coordinate consulting and advisory engagements for healthcare organisations across Australia. The role focuses on planning, resourcing, client communication and project support, working with internal and external consultants to ensure services are well organised and delivered to agreed requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Consulting delivery and project coordination: Coordinate consulting engagements, project activities, internal and external consulting resources, client scheduling and related administration.
- Governance and improvement support: Support gap analyses, readiness reviews, governance assessments, quality improvement initiatives and systems improvement activities.
- Client documentation and reporting: Prepare proposals, reports, client presentations and project documentation that are clear, accurate and fit for purpose.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build productive relationships with healthcare executives, clinicians, quality teams and other client stakeholders.
- Quality assurance and service improvement: Monitor project progress,
support quality assurance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of ACHS consulting methodologies, tools and resources.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare, quality improvement, consulting or advisory roles
- Knowledge of healthcare quality, safety and clinical governance principles
- Strong written and verbal communication and report-writing skills
- Experience coordinating projects or consulting activities
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Professional, client-focused approach
- Willingness to travel as required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, nursing, allied health, public health, health management or a related field
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with the NSQHS Standards or other accreditation frameworks
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies such as PDSA, Lean or clinical audit
- Postgraduate studies or professional certification in quality, safety or health management
