Software Technical Lead – Salesforce oversees a technical domain and manages the engineers within it, combining deep software development expertise with leadership responsibilities. They guide teams through the full development lifecycle, from problem discovery and system design to deployment and maintenance of live code.

While involved in day‑to‑day delivery, they also focus on strategic planning and team leadership. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, they ensure software solutions deliver strong business and customer value aligned with strategic goals.

Beyond their immediate teams, they contribute to the organisation’s broader technical vision and operational effectiveness as part of the Engineering and Delivery Leadership teams, helping shape the direction of digital products and services across the enterprise.

Requirements

- 10 years’ experience in systems development and implementation
- 3+ years experience in technical leadership and demonstrable ability to inspire and mentor less experienced developers in best practices for software development
- Demonstrated implementation experience across key Salesforce modules, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience/Community Cloud, Knowledge, Omni‑Channel, and Analytics/CRM Analytics
- Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits and platform constraints, with hands‑on experience optimising SOQL queries, bulkified Apex patterns, and large‑data processing




- Deep expertise in the Salesforce Integration stack, including limitations, security considerations, and end‑to‑end delivery using REST APIs, Platform Events, Named Credentials, External Credentials, and Connected/External Apps
- Proven capability in release management frameworks, governance, and deployment strategies, using tools such as GitHub, AutoRABIT, and modern DevOps practices
- Experienced in documenting and implementing coding and configuration best practices and standards across technologies such as Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce
- Practical experience working with middleware and integration platforms including MuleSoft, Informatica, and similar technologies
- Experience configuring and deploying Salesforce ISV/AppExchange products (e.g., Conga, Quip, and related solutions)
- Foundational background in Java‑based technologies, including Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Spring IO, supporting broader solution design and integration work
- Skilled in analysing upcoming Salesforce release features, assessing functional and technical impacts, and defining appropriate implementation or decommissioning strategies
- Experience guiding teams through agile product discovery and delivery phases
- Experience working with technical and non‑technical partners, with the capability to influence stakeholders to drive functional,



efficient, and maintainable software
