DUAL is seeking an experienced General Liability Underwriter to join the General Liability team. The Senior Liability Underwriter will work closely with the Regional Manager to grow and develop a national portfolio within the mid‑market sector, with opportunities for growth and career development.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within the mid‑market sector
- Underwrite and manage new business, renewals and endorsements through building meaningful broker relationships
- Communicate DUAL’s underwriting appetite to broking partners
- Develop and maintain market‑facing broker relationships and industry networks
- Negotiate rates and terms with brokers within underwriting guidelines and business risk appetite
- Follow up offers of quotations/renewals
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in a Liability Underwriting role with strong technical knowledge of underwriting liability risks
- Track record of new business development and ability to manage multiple clients across a broad range of risk industries for recent business, renewals and endorsements
- Comfortable providing training,
guidance and mentorship to fellow staff and addressing external clients
- Strong people skills and a focus on quality service to build and maintain a book of new business and responsive broker service
- Interest in moving from underwriter to senior role is welcome
