Job Description

Oaks Melbourne St Kilda Road Hotel is looking for a passionate and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a part‑time basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
- Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
- Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
- Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.

Shift Details

- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.




- Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods.
- Immediate start available.

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation)

- Monday – Friday: $27.08 per hour.
- Saturday: $33.85 per hour.
- Sunday: $40.62 per hour.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
