Remuneration Package
Base pay: $108,308 - $118,829 inclusive of superannuation and allowances. Salary range: $69,074 - $75,784.

Role Overview
As an Experienced Correctional Officer , your role will be energetic, challenging and varied. You will form part of a supportive team of professionals responsible for the safe, secure and humane management of prisoners. You will contribute to creating an environment that better supports and enables prisoners to successfully reintegrate back into the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor and manage prisoners.
- Employ appropriate security measures to ensure the safety of prisoners.
- Undertake escorts and respond to emergencies.
- Supervise and train prisoners in Correctional Services Industries, where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
- Either Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Correctional Officer in a correctional facility within the last two years.
- Certificate III in Correctional Practice or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work in a cross‑cultural environment.
Salary Details
- Applicants holding a Certificate III: $69,074 - $75,784 + 40% consolidated allowance + 12% superannuation (remuneration package $108,308 - $118,829).
- Applicants holding a Certificate IV: $75,784 + 40% consolidated allowance + 12% superannuation (remuneration package $118,829).
- Applicants may negotiate commencement salary during the recruitment process.
Additional Leave & Allowances
- 6 weeks recreational leave plus 3 weeks personal leave.
- Payment for overtime.
- Additional one week recreational leave for working 10 Sundays or more during a calendar year.
- Attraction and retention allowance for Alice Springs: $2,500 after 3 months, $2,500 after 6 months, and $5,000 after a further 12 months. Ongoing retention allowance: $5,000 lump sum after each additional 12 months.
