About the role

At IKAD Engineering, we’re offering an opportunity for a Leading Hand – Fabrication to join our team in Henderson and support the day-to-day coordination of workshop activities.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone ready to step up, lead a crew and support delivery of projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for supporting the Supervisor and overseeing daily activities within the Fabrication team to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supervising trades, apprentices and subcontractors on a day‑to‑day basis
- Providing guidance, support and technical assistance to the team
- Assisting in the training and development of apprentices
- Taking direction from the Supervisor and leading the crew independently when required
- Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to scope
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working workplace
- Ensuring correct PPE is used and safety requirements are adhered to




- Promoting and maintaining strong HSEQ compliance across all work activities
- Ensuring materials and equipment are correctly identified, handled and stored
- Monitoring work to ensure it meets company standards and specifications
- Ensuring measuring and testing equipment is identified, calibrated and fit for use

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Leading Hand who can lead by example and support a high‑performing team.

Essential:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role or step‑up position
- Proven ability to supervise and manage personnel
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Compliant with Fitness for Work requirements
- WA C‑Class Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to work in remote locations when required

Desirable:

- First Aid Certificate
- HRWL (Forklift, Dogging/Rigging, EWP)
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights tickets
