Position Details

Fixed Term, Full Time Parental leave replacement – ending 21 May 2027. Band 5 Salary $ 84,296.16 + Super. Flexible working: 19 days per month with RDO or 9 day fortnight option.

About the Role

This role supports the Statutory Planning team in assessing planning applications and delivering planning outcomes for the community. Under guidance, the candidate will contribute to application assessments, prepare reports and correspondence, and assist in interpreting planning controls while building practical experience in local government planning processes.

Qualifications

- Recent graduate within Urban and Regional Planning or final year student, or entry‑level experience in related field such as local government, property, development, or environmental assessment.
- Demonstrated interest in statutory planning and the Victorian planning system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to interpret planning controls and apply sound analytical thinking.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, willingness to learn and contribute to team outcomes.
- Customer‑focused mindset with ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders.
