The Secondary School Teacher is a critical member of the Academic Team. The role is primarily responsible for:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster student learning, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
- Provide pastoral care and guidance to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Uphold strong classroom management practices to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all students.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to enhance student outcomes and school culture.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, commitment to professional development, and alignment with the Christian values and educational ethos of the College.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture that supports student engagement and growth.

Experience
- Proven experience teaching at the secondary school level, ideally including Years 7‑12.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing curriculum in alignment with the NSW curriculum.
- Experience in assessing and reporting on student learning, using a variety of tools and strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Competence in using technology and digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Participation in co‑curricular or extracurricular activities, camps, or school events.
Essential Criteria
- Four‑year tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
- Willingness to teach Geography.
- Conditional, provisional or proficient registration with NESA.
- First aid certification.
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
