Job Title

System Engineer

Employment: Permanent Role

Experience: 3+ years

Location: Melbourne, Sydney, Australia - Hybrid

Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation to ensure the stability and performance of production systems.
- Define and enhance hardware and system requirements, ensuring optimal infrastructure scalability and efficiency.
- Build and improve automation tools and processes that minimize manual effort and optimize system operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, validate, and deploy recent hardware and software solutions.
- Develop and execute operational readiness and acceptance tests for new technologies entering production.
- Manage and enhance infrastructure observability, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of system issues.




- Participate in on-call rotations to resolve critical production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery.
- Continuously assess and improve operational processes to support growing workloads and evolving architectures.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Linux/UNIX systems.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and load balancing.
- Experience operating CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system layers: infrastructure, OS, networking, and applications.
- Experience supporting cloud-based or distributed systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, detect, and resolve performance or availability issues in production environments.
