Let’stalk about the team:
TheDevices Mechanicalteamdevelops innovative products from concept to production to improve health outcomes for millions of people around the world.Mechanical engineers work within a project team to research, design, develop and verify products that can be manufactured in high volume. As part of the mechanical team, you will work closely with other engineers (mechanical, electrical, systems, software, manufacturing) and industrial designers to shape and realise products that treat sleep apnea, and other respiratory conditions.
Let’stalk about responsibilities:
- Take a mature approach toyourdesignworkwith consideration of requirements relating to marketing, patients and customers, human factors / usability, therapy performance, environmental factors and design for manufacturing and assembly
- Take responsibilityforthedevelopment ofcomponents, with a holistic view of how design impacts end users, customersand patients
- Understand, assessand mitigate risks associated with the product through processes such as DFMEA
- Build prototypes using arange of techniques includingadditive manufacturing and hand tools
- Design and perform tests (including verification and validation) for products to ensure they meet requirements and specifications underanticipatedusage scenarios and operating conditions
- Solve design problems using a combination of analysis and empirical methods
- Assess and effectively communicate the impact of issues tointernal customers
- Document the development and testing of designs completely and accurately
- Work within regulatory requirements such as ISO and FDA and ResMed’s Quality Management System
- Operate witha high levelof autonomy whilst interacting effectively with team members and other areas of the business, including marketing, manufacturing, clinical and regulatory affairs, to ensure the products being developed areappropriateand meet requirements
