Additional Information:
- This role is (Permanent Full Time, 76hrs/fortnight.
- As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
About this work area
As Shopkeeper your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Optimise sales and profitability by taking ownership of the product range and consistently delivering IKEA commercial priorities and volume commitments.
- Identify and act on commercial opportunities by responding to customer insights, monitoring competitor activity, and using supply and performance analysis to drive informed actions.
- Support customers to buy with confidence by providing strong product knowledge, inspiration, and practical solutions tailored to their needs.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams (including Fulfilment and Com‑In) to strengthen product availability, uphold merchandising standards, and maintain a full, inspiring, and well‑presented shop floor.
- Build a high‑trust, high‑performance culture by encouraging open two‑way feedback, providing clear direction, and engaging co‑workers in achieving IKEA objectives.
- Champion IKEA’s sustainability and social responsibility commitments by embedding responsible practices into daily ways of working.
As Shopkeeper you are and/or have:
- Commercially minded and results‑driven, with a strong customer focus.
- Proven experience working in a fast‑paced retail/commercial environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer‑led business, delivering a positive end‑to‑end experience.
- Skilled in active selling by understanding customer needs and recommending relevant solutions.
- Genuine interest in people’s everyday life at home and home furnishing.
- Adaptable and flexible, with a positive approach to change.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team-oriented team.
- Confident decision‑maker who takes initiative and acts with accountability.
