The Senior Assessor in the Assessment Unit manages and categorises employee misconduct allegations to ensure compliance with policy and legal requirements, reporting to the Manager Assessment Unit. Responsibilities include providing risk advise to senior management, overseeing daily triage operations, liaising with law enforcement, and contributing to policy improvement.
The role of Senior Assessor reports to the Manager Assessment Unit. As the Senior Assessor, you will efficiently assess, categorise and manage complaints and reports of misconduct concerning employees referred to Ethical Standards in accordance with policy and legislative imperatives.
The primary accountabilities of the Senior Assessor include:
• Provide oversight and qualified advice to internal stakeholders on matters of employee misconduct allegations and determine the appropriate intervention or administrative action.
• Provide operational advice to senior management in relation to the legislative requirements and risk management considerations upon receipt of allegations relating to staff misconduct.
• Engage and liaise with other regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies as necessary in the management of allegations relating to staff misconduct.
• Contribute to and provide oversight for the day-to-day operations of the Assessment Unit across in the intake/triage and assessment phases to provide advice, make recommendations and progress the closure of individual matters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including the development and review of strategic and operational policy, procedures and guidelines relevant appropriately assess allegations in line with applicable law, policy and practice.
• Contribute to design of enhanced functions to support operational, legislative and sector priorities, and other related management functions to maintain the quality and functionality of the systems.
• Manage and maintain the integrity of data and maintain appropriate records.
• The role description provides the minimum requirements for the role. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as required outside of these primary accountabilities.
• Exposure to trauma and/or vicarious trauma
o Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the Senior Assessor, they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature. It is likely that employees will be required to engage with staff who have been exposed to potentially traumatic material or events. Whilst QCS offers a no-cost employee assistant program for our employees and their immediate household family members, personal strategies are also important.
