What your day could look like
As an Advanced Social Worker, you'll help people experiencing complex mental health challenges build stronger pathways to recovery. Working across clinical care, service development and team support, you'll influence outcomes that benefit individuals, families and the wider community.
- Provide specialist social work expertise that supports recovery, wellbeing and person-centred care.
- Collaborate with consumers, carers, multidisciplinary teams and community partners to achieve positive, coordinated outcomes.
- Drive improvements that strengthen service quality, enhance practice standards and support innovation.
- Guide and develop colleagues, students and emerging practitioners through coaching, supervision and shared learning.

You're an experienced social worker who combines clinical expertise with empathy, confidence and a genuine commitment to helping others. You thrive when navigating complexity, building trusted relationships and creating meaningful change. Whether supporting a person through a difficult stage of their recovery or helping a team grow stronger, you bring a values-driven approach and a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Eligibility for membership, or current membership, with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Advanced experience delivering evidence-based social work services within mental health settings.
- Highly developed communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement initiatives and support professional development in others.
You'll stand out if you bring experience in recovery-focused,
multicultural or community-based mental health services, and/or involvement in education, research or workforce development.
