What your day could look like
As a Senior Social Worker in Women's and Children's Services, you'll play a vital role in supporting women, children and families through complex and life-changing experiences. From delivering specialist psychosocial care to shaping better ways of working, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create positive outcomes across the community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering advanced assessments, interventions and care plans that strengthen wellbeing, safety and resilience
- Partnering with patients, carers, clinicians and community services to achieve coordinated, person-centred outcomes
- Leading quality improvement initiatives that enhance care and support evidence-based practice
- Mentoring colleagues and sharing specialist knowledge to build capability across the service

You're a skilled and compassionate professional who can balance empathy with sound clinical judgement. You build trust quickly, remain calm in complex situations, and are motivated by making a meaningful difference for women, children and families. You'll feel proud knowing your expertise helps people navigate challenging moments while contributing to stronger services and better community outcomes.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a recognised Social Work qualification
- Experience managing complex psychosocial presentations within women's, children's or related clinical settings
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and service improvement capability
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have additional training or qualifications in domestic and family violence, grief and loss, attachment-based practice, or other relevant specialty areas.
