Please note: Brisbane School of Distance Education operates through most of the year and closes for only two weeks over the Christmas vacation, which is our peak enrolment period. The Team Leader, Finance will be required to be on site during this time to support critical operations.

About the School:

The Brisbane School of Distance Education provides lessons in an on-line environment to over 3000 students. This position provides high level support to the Business Manager and Principal to support over 300 staff and over 1000 families. The applicant should be knowledgeable with Agresso, One School and knowledge of Education Qld policy, DOE standards and Distance Education enrolment policy are critical. The role directly supports the Business Manager and School Executive and provides advice to all school staff and parents on issues of enrolment fees and refunds. This position manages an accounts receivable officer and is responsible for the management of the school's 8 million dollar budget.

- Ability to lead and manage the budget process
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to apply relevant enrolment policy
- Ability to extract, analyse and manipulate data and information for reporting purposes

About the role:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Be accountable for the daily operations of the financial services team, including procurement, invoicing, accounts receivable and payable processing and debt collection, providing direction to ensure compliance with financial processes, practices and legislation.
- Review annual program budgets collaboratively with the Principal, Business Manager, Heads of Department and Heads of Schools.
- Oversee the process of fee collection, refunding and debt recovery by liaising and coordinating with government agencies and schools.
- Be accountable for resolving matters relating to financial administration and service delivery for the school.
- Undertake complex financial analysis in relation to funding issues impacting on the development and management of budgets and provide recommendations for strategies to maximise income streams.
