Action Metal Recyclers is Queensland's largest privately owned scrap metal recycling company, with 10 facilities located across Townsville, Gladstone, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Warwick and the Gold Coast.

Our major recycling facility at Coopers Plains is seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join our maintenance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our fleet of heavy vehicles is maintained to the highest standard, keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in heavy vehicles who takes pride in quality workmanship and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Service, maintain and repair our fleet of heavy vehicles.

- Carry out preventative maintenance on trucks.

- Diagnose faults and interpret diagnostic reports.

- Maintain scheduled servicing and maintenance records.

- Ensure the workshop is kept clean, organised and protected.

- Identify and implement productivity and maintenance improvements.

- Mentor apprentices and trades assistants.





- Work independently as well as collaboratively within the maintenance team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate 111 in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

- Experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.

- Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

- A commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- A reliable, honest and hardworking attitude.

- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
