HR Advisor
Permanent | Brisbane Bayside | $115,000–$125,000 + super
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HR Advisor to join a well-established engineering and contracting business backed by one of the world’s largest construction groups, employing more than 100,000 people globally.
Based at the company’s Ipswich and surrounding areas office and reporting directly to the HR Manager, this is a true generalist position supporting employees and leaders across a diverse operational workforce.
This role would suit a confident and approachable HR professional who enjoys variety, building robust stakeholder relationships and providing practical advice in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
The Role
Working closely with the HR Manager, leaders and employees, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day HR advice across the complete employee lifecycle
- Supporting employee relations and workplace investigations
- Advising managers on performance management and disciplinary matters
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and employee inductions
- Assisting with remuneration reviews and workforce planning
- Interpreting employment legislation, awards, policies and procedures
- Supporting learning, development and employee-engagement initiatives
- Preparing employment contracts, variations and HR correspondence
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR-system information
- Supporting organisational change and continuous-improvement projects
- Monitoring HR reporting, compliance and people-related trends
- Assisting with offboarding, exit interviews and succession planning
About You
To be successful, you will ideally offer:
- Previous experience as an HR Advisor or in a comparable generalist position
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and modern awards
- Experience managing employee relations and performance matters
- Confidence supporting both operational and corporate employees
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- A practical, solutions-focused and commercially aware approach
- High levels of discretion, professionalism and attention to detail
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a wider HR team
Experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing or another operational environment would be highly regarded.
