About the Role
As Manager Data Steward, Model & User Developed Applications, you’ll act as the Data Steward for Business and Retail Banking data assets, while providing governance, oversight and assurance across key business-owned Models and User Developed Applications.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring data assets, models and UDAs are appropriately governed, documented, monitored and maintained in line with Group Risk Management Frameworks, Data Management Standards and regulatory obligations.
Partnering closely with Product Owners, Retail Banking leaders, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Data Management and key governance forums, you’ll be responsible for improving data quality, maintaining metadata and data dictionaries, supporting Critical Data Element management and ensuring business-owned models and UDAs remain fit for purpose, controlled and compliant.
In this role, you’ll also lead and support data quality investigations, issue remediation, governance reporting, control reviews, annual attestations and stakeholder engagement across a broad range of internal and external partners.
This is a highly influential role where your expertise will help uplift data governance maturity, strengthen risk culture and support better data-driven decision making across BOQ Group.
About You
Are you passionate about trusted data, strong governance and driving better business outcomes through smart, risk-aware decision making?
This is an exciting opportunity to join BOQ Group in a newly focused leadership role where you’ll help shape how Product and Retail Banking data, models and user-developed applications are governed, maintained and continuously improved.
You’re an experienced data governance, data quality or risk professional who enjoys working across complex environments and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
You bring strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to translate technical data challenges into practical business solutions.
You’ll bring experience managing, analysing or governing customer, product or financial services data, with exposure to data stewardship, data quality management, risk, compliance, governance or remediation initiatives.
Experience in regulated financial services environments will be highly regarded.
You’ll also have a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data lineage, data dictionaries, master data concepts, operational risk and controls frameworks.
Experience with tools such as Databricks, Power BI, Python, modern data platforms, Microsoft Suite, Power Platforms or Dynamics would be valued.
Most importantly, you’re a natural collaborator who can build trusted relationships across teams, divisions and business lines.
You’re organised, commercially aware, confident preparing governance papers and reporting, and comfortable presenting insights, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
