About your new role
In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening Brighter Super’s governance and compliance frameworks across the Fund and key service providers.
Working within the Line 2 Compliance team, you’ll support a strong, enterprise-wide compliance program and help embed consistent, practical compliance practices across the business. This is a hands‑on, varied role where you’ll be involved in a broad and compelling range of matters.
You’ll be a trusted partner to stakeholders across the Fund - providing pragmatic, solutions-focused advice, supporting day-to-day compliance approvals, and helping teams manage a broad range of compliance activity, from reviewing member-facing materials through to incident and breach assessment and regulatory reporting.
This role can be based in either Brisbane or Sydney.
In this role, you will:
- Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused compliance advice that helps business teams understand and meet their obligations while still achieving their goals.
- Review and support approvals for member-facing materials, such as website content, disclosure documents, campaigns, communications and collateral - ensuring they comply with laws applying to the advertising of financial services and products.
- Support the ongoing uplift and monitoring of the enterprise compliance program, including controls, evidence, attestations, recordkeeping and monitoring activities.
- Investigate and assess incidents and potential breaches, including oversight of remediation actions and process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to governance and policy frameworks, including continuous improvement of processes, registers and documentation standards.
- Support assurance and attestation activities.
- Build strong working relationships across the fund and with external bodies where needed, including regulators.
About you
You’re a pragmatic, resilient compliance professional who enjoys partnering with the business to solve problems and improve outcomes. You balance attention to detail with pace, remain composed under pressure, and bring sound judgement and a calm, methodical approach when priorities shift.
You can effectively and confidently engage with senior stakeholders and are able to work independently and collaboratively across a broad range of matters.
- Strong knowledge of governance and compliance requirements in superannuation and/or financial services, and confidence interpreting and applying legislation and regulatory obligations.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Law is advantageous but not essential)
- Experience in incident and breach management, including investigation, remediation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to analyse business drivers and develop commercially sound, enterprise‑wide compliance solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across a range of teams and seniority levels.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, high‑quality records
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and recordkeeping, with confidence using registers and GRC-style systems (and strong MS Office capability).
