Shah Automotive Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our workshop for an immediate start.This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position for an initial period of nine months, with the possibility of a further six-month extension depending on business requirements.The position has become available due to the unexpected temporary departure of a senior mechanic. We require a capable mechanic who can quickly integrate into the workshop and independently manage servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and general mechanical work.Position Details

Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Conducting routine vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension components, steering systems and other vehicle components
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults and performance issues
- Inspecting vehicles and identifying required repairs or maintenance
- Completing roadworthiness and safety checks
- Testing vehicles following repairs to ensure they operate correctly and safely
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records
- Providing clear explanations of mechanical issues and recommended repairs
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Complying with workplace health and safety requirements




- Working efficiently to meet workshop schedules and customer deadlines

Essential RequirementsApplicants must have:

- A relevant automotive mechanical qualification
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic, servicing and repair skills
- Experience working across a broad range of vehicle makes and models
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good time-management and problem-solving skills
- A strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights for the duration of the contract

Desirable AttributesPreference may be given to applicants who have:

- Experience in a busy automotive workshop
- Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to supervise or assist junior mechanics when required
