Job Description for Non-VR General Practitioner (GP) – Full Time

Location: Craigieburn Medical & Cosmetic Centre, CRAIGIEBURN VIC

Position Overview:
A position is available for a Full time non-VR, or Locum General Practitioner in a very busy Bulk Billing clinic, with Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Weekend hours available.

Working Hours:
The working hours are negotiable but are expected to be within the following times:

- Monday: 12.00pm – 9.00pm
- Tuesday: 12.00pm – 9.00pm
- Wednesday: 12.00pm – 9.00pm
- Friday: 12.00pm – 9.00pm
- Saturday: 12.00pm – 4.00pm

Essential Qualifications:

- Current AHPRA registration
- English Language Proficiency
- Australian Medical Council (AMC) certificate

Experience Required:

- Family Medicine
- Women’s Health
- Immunisations
- Travel Vaccinations

Responsibilities:

- Minor Procedures & Dressings
- Chronic Disease Management
- Skin Cancer Screening
- Private billings for non-standard MBS items and overseas patients
- Managing a large, multi-cultural patient base
- Providing skilled health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients




- Ordering diagnostic tests and informing patients of results
- Referring patients to other providers as needed
- Consulting and collaborating with colleagues for optimal care
- Documenting all care provided and patient education within health records
- Maintaining professional knowledge and standards through continuing medical education and personal professional development
- Working constructively and harmoniously with all staff to ensure patients receive optimal care
- Returning telephone calls in a timely manner
- Completing medical reports and other documents in a timely manner
- Reporting incidents in accordance with professional obligations and practice policy
- Keeping up to date with new item numbers, SIPs, and incentive payments
- Ensuring your immunisation status is kept up to date
- Demonstrating knowledge of policies and procedural guidelines that have legal implications
- Demonstrating commitment to ongoing career development

Additional Information:

- The role may require after-hours work.
- Supervision can be supplied if needed.
