Anchor & Aim Support is seeking a companion, mentor, and positive role model to build a genuine, long-term relationship with a 22-year-old young man.
The ideal candidate will:
- Naturally connect with a young man and be someone he enjoys spending time with.
- Be confident, engaging, and an excellent communicator.
- Have experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and be able to remain calm and de-escalate situations if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with allied health professionals and provide meaningful observations about the participant's progress.
- Be committed to building trust and consistency over the long term.
In addition, a female support worker will work alongside the primary male support worker to provide encouragement, maintain positive engagement, and help create an enjoyable, relaxed workplace for the participant. She will not provide support independently.
**Role Summary**
-**Location:** Hallam / Casey (South East Melbourne)
- **Hours:** Weekdays, approximately 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- **Commitment:** Ongoing, consistent support
- **Availability:** Minimum 25 hours per week preferred
- **Employment:** Casual or Part-time
- **Long-term commitment essential**
Our participant is a bright, funny young man who enjoys gaming, tennis, movies, and getting out into the community. He responds best to individuals who are warm, approachable, positive, and genuinely interested in building a meaningful connection.
