Polaris (Engineering) Services Pty Ltd is an integrated heavy industry engineering and construction company servicing the mining, oil & gas, and infrastructure sectors throughout Australia.
With two manufacturing workshop facilities and a dedicated blast and paint facility in Henderson, WA, Polaris delivers fabrication, construction, maintenance, and installation services both locally and across regional and interstate projects.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead our people function and support the development of our workforce and culture.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full employee lifecycle across the business, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, driving best-practice HR processes, and supporting the ongoing development of our people.
The role will manage and mentor the Recruitment & Mobilisation Coordinator and Site Administration team while providing strategic and operational HR support across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Workforce planning and labour forecasting to support operational requirements
- Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and employee mobilisation processes
- Managing employee relations, grievances, investigations and dispute resolution
- Supporting and managing performance review and disciplinary processes
- Coordinating training, learning and development initiatives
- Promoting employee wellbeing and managing psychosocial risk factors
- Preparing employment contracts and HR documentation
- Managing employee separations, terminations and exit processes
- Ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, employment obligations and workplace policies
- Providing advice and support to managers on people and culture matters
- Liaising with Fair Work and external stakeholders regarding employment matters and legislative changes
- Assisting with immigration and workforce administration requirementsSupporting industrial relations matters, bargaining processes and workplace consultations
- Driving HR initiatives, policies and continuous improvement projects

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a Human Resources Manager, HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role
- Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements and HR best practice
- Experience managing employee relations, performance management and disciplinary processes
- Demonstrated knowledge across all stages of the employee lifecycle
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Ability to build relationships with employees and managers at all levels
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid‑paced environment
- Experience within construction, engineering, mining, manufacturing or related industries will be highly regarded
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Full working rights in Australia
