Your new role

You will provide Level 2/3 application support and high-quality customer service for queries, incidents, service requests and application management.

Responsibilities

- Manage incident tickets triaged from the Service Desk, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with end users.
- Manage and resolve incidents related to AWS infrastructure and Tomcat application stack.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to ensure optimal deployment and configuration of Tomcat applications on Linux-based EC2 instances.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and availability issues in Tomcat environments hosted on AWS.
- Configure and maintain alerting thresholds to detect performance degradation proactively.
- Provide Level 2 support for AWS-based applications running in Apache Tomcat on Linux OS.

What you’ll need to succeed

- Demonstrated experience in an Application Support, Middleware Support, Production Support, or Platform Support role.
- Robust hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting IBM MQ, including queue management, messaging issues,



and incident resolution.
- Proven experience administering and supporting Apache Tomcat environments, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) architecture, log analysis, memory management, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting applications hosted on AWS EC2 and related AWS services, with knowledge of Linux-based environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL and DB2 databases, including query analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting database-related issues.
- Strong experience investigating production incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing permanent solutions to improve system stability.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, middleware, infrastructure, and database layers.
