Your recent company My client is a highly regarded organisation undertaking an important program of technology-enabled business improvement. As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation, efficiency and service excellence, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead two strategic initiatives focused on modernising operational processes through digital technology. This is an opportunity to work with senior executives, government stakeholders and industry-leading technology vendors on projects that will help shape future service delivery outcomes.

Your new role

As Project Manager, you will lead the assessment and planning activities for two related technology initiatives, including the evaluation of ballot paper scanning solutions and implementation planning for technology-assisted processing capabilities. Working closely with senior executives, steering committee members, external stakeholders and technology vendors, you will be responsible for driving project outcomes, coordinating governance activities and providing evidence-based recommendations to support future investment and procurement decisions.

Key responsibilities

- Leading project delivery from assessment through to closure and handover.
- Managing project schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and reporting activities.
- Coordinating vendor assessments, market engagement activities and solution demonstrations.
- Preparing recommendations and feasibility advice to inform strategic decision-making.
- Developing reports,



briefing papers and presentations for executive and steering committee audiences.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement across government, industry and vendor representatives.
- Maintaining project governance artefacts including project plans, registers, budgets and closure documentation.
- Supporting consultation activities and evaluating potential technology trial approaches.

What you'll need to succeed

- Proven experience delivering technology, digital transformation or business improvement projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capability.
- Experience working within governance frameworks and reporting to senior executives or steering committees.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare business cases, feasibility assessments, evaluation reports or strategic recommendations.
- Excellent project planning, risk management and delivery skills.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly.
- Experience working within government, public sector or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- Relevant project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent.
