Your Role & Team

TheDeveloper Experience Engineeris a senior individual contributor responsible for driving measurable improvements to developer experience, deliveryperformanceand operational efficiency acrossCreditorWatch'sengineering organisation.

Working within the Engineering Operations team alongside Staff Engineers and a Solution Architect, this roleoperatesat the intersection of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, AI-drivenworkflowsand cross-team coordination. TheDeveloper Experience Engineeridentifiesfriction, proposessolutionsand ships outcomes -operatingwith a high degree of autonomy and pace.

This is not a traditional DevOps role focused on keeping the lights on. This is a role for someone who sees broken workflows, slowpipelinesand manual toil as problems to be solved systematically - and who has the technical skill and communication ability to drive adoption across a multi-squad engineering organisation.





You’ll report directly to the Engineering Operations Manager in this role.

Please note, it’s a full-time opportunity offering hybrid working conditions out of our Sydney CBD Office .

Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to:

AI-Driven Workflows & Developer Productivity

- Drive the adoption and operationalisation of AI tooling across the SDLC
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual effort at each stage from ideation through to production
- Establish best practices,standardsand guardrails for AI-assisted development across squads

CI/CD & Pipeline Optimisation

- Own the performance and reliability of CI/CD pipelines built on GitHub Actions
- Reduce build times,eliminateflakytestsand improve deployment confidence across teams
- Implement andmaintaininfrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform

Developer Experience

- Systematicallyidentifyandeliminatedeveloper friction across the engineering organisation
- Improve local development environments, onboardingexperienceand day-to-day tooling
- Reduce manual process burden through automation of repetitive tasks - shifting developers toward verification and orchestration rather than manual implementation
- Drive standardisation across repositories,pipelinesand teams to reduce cognitive load, context-switchingcostand per-team maintenance overhead
- Use DORA and DX metrics toidentifyhigh-impact improvement opportunities, measure outcomes anddemonstrateprogress in deployment frequency and lead time

Cross-Team Coordination & Initiative Delivery

- Lead complex, cross-cutting improvement initiatives from investigation through to adoption
- Coordinate with squad leads and engineers to roll out operational changes with minimal disruption
- Communicate progress,trade-offsand outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Our ideal candidate

- Practical experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or similar with strong hands-on capability
- Deep experience with CI/CD pipeline design and optimisation, particularly GitHub Actions
- Practical experience integrating SaaS platforms(e.gDatadog,LaunchDarkly, Databricks,Jira, JSM,getDX)
- Practical Terraform and infrastructure-as-code skills in AWS environments
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (Claude Code, Copilot or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills - able to build consensus across squads without authority
- Data-driven mindset - uses metrics to inform priorities, justify decisions anddemonstrateimpact
- Comfortable working across a polyglot setting (PHP,



Node, Go, Python)
- Experience with containerised workloads (ECS/EKS) and cloud-native architectures
- Systems-thinking approach toidentifyingand resolving developer experience problems at scale
