About the role
The Regional Manager will oversee the operational management of ac.care’s Residential Care houses within the Limestone Coast, focusing on Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. They will be responsible for implementing quality assurance and continuous improvement measures to ensure the program is agile, reflective of industry best practice standards and delivering a high standard of care.
The role will provide leadership and operational support to Team Leaders and a diverse group of staff through coaching and applying therapeutic knowledge and Trauma Responsive Practices.
The Regional Manager will also oversee individual therapeutic care plans designed to meet the complex needs of children and young people under Guardianship or custody of the Chief Executive of the Department for Child Protection and in accordance with ac.care’s compliance obligations.
As part of this role, you will:
- Lead, coordinate and support Residential Care Teams to meet quality services standards, compliance targets and legislative requirements.
- Lead the recruitment, induction, training and performance management and development of staff.
- Provide strong financial management of relevant program budgets.
- Monitor the development of and actively participate in the review process of all clients’ individual therapeutic care plans in accordance with program and Service Agreement requirements, and registration standards as required by the Department of Child Protection (DCP).
- Participate in an after hours on-call service as per an on-call roster.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
- Tertiary or formal qualifications appropriate to the role i.e. in Human Services, management or related field, e.g. Social Work, Child Development, Social Sciences, Psychology with substantial (4 or more years) experience in Therapeutic Residential Care (children and young people) or; or lesser formal qualifications with extensive (8 or more years) experience in Therapeutic Residential Care (children and young people).
- Certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer.
- Demonstrated experience in leading managing and supporting teams and providing supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating service delivery to understand program needs and service gaps, to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in policy and procedure development and applying TCI principles into standard practices to ensure the placement needs of children and young people in care are met through the delivery of therapeutic programs.
- Demonstrated financial acumen.
- Highly developed written, interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to resolve conflict and complex problems, with a range of people, including service users, families and other key stakeholders.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
- Physical ability to work around children and young people, including sitting, standing, running as well as the ability to perform household duties such as cleaning, cooking and lifting as required.
Special Conditions
- Current SA driver’s licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent.
- Regular intrastate travel will be required and interstate travel may be required.
- Current Satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
- Current Satisfactory National Police Check or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
- Satisfactory completion of the statutory Psychological Suitability Assessment (PSA). For further information visit
