As a Technical Officer in our Infrastructure team, you’ll play a key role in planning, supporting and delivering the essential services that keep our region moving forward.
Your opportunity
As a Technical Officer, you will provide technical support to the Infrastructure Services department for Shire infrastructure projects that underpin our community’s future.
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, your technical expertise will be applied to the coordination of a range of civil works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Identify and review specific areas requiring works to be completed;
- Prepare draft annual capital works and maintenance programs and minor construction plans;
- Discuss and provide instructions to supervisors and works crews to improve works programs when they are not achieving in a cost effective manner;
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements and Council policies;
- Prepare Main Roads claims for construction and maintenance works including RMPC;
What you’ll bring
You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively. With a strong commitment to quality and safety, you take pride in delivering outcomes that make a real difference to the community.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering;
- Previous experience in Civil Construction or related area;
- Current Qld Drivers Licence and Construction Induction Card;
- Ability to interpret and analyse design plans and specifications; and
- General civil design and estimating skills
Although it’s not essential, it would be great if you had:
- Local government industry experience
