About the Role

The Governance and Executive Services Branch play a critical role in supporting Sunshine Coast Council through the development of robust governance frameworks, policies and practices. Working at the heart of the organisation, the Branch provides expert governance advice, drives transparency and accountability, and delivers initiatives that help Council serve its community with excellence while preparing for the future.

As the Governance Projects Officer, you will coordinate and deliver a diverse range of governance projects, programs and initiatives that build effective decision-making capability with a current focus on supporting Council’s local law-making process. You will also contribute to broader governance initiatives that strengthen decision-making capability, improve processes and strive towards organisational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

- Coordinate and deliver governance projects and initiatives,



ensuring agreed timelines, milestones and outcomes are achieved.
- Facilitate Council's local law-making processes, including project planning, review activities, consultation and Council reporting.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on governance initiatives and local law making processes.to
- Develop reports, briefings, training materials and governance resources while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is based at Sunshine Coast City Hall , located in the vibrant and emerging Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

You bring demonstrated experience delivering projects in governance, policy, regulatory or similar environments, with the ability to manage competing priorities and achieve high-quality outcomes.

You have a strong understanding of governance principles, impeccable integrity and can confidently interpret legislative, policy and organisational requirements to support sound decision-making.

You build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and possess outstanding communication skills, enabling you to inform consult, facilitate discussions and influence positive outcomes.

You are highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of preparing high-quality reports, briefings and project documentation while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

You bring curiosity to your work, enjoy learning and improving how things are done, and approach challenges with a practical,



solutions-focused mindset. You care about delivering quality outcomes and contributing positively to team culture.
