We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Service Centre Manager to lead our Altona plant operation—driving performance across safety, service, quality and cost.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Operations Director – VIC, TAS & SA, you’ll take ownership of a high-volume, multi-shift production site , leading a workforce of 60+ employees. This is a role for a practical, well-rounded leader who can balance frontline engagement with operational strategy and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and embed a strong Zero Harm safety culture across the site
- Manage and develop a large, multi-shift workforce
- Deliver operational performance across safety, quality, service and cost
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practice processes
- Partner closely with customers, sales and internal stakeholders
- Manage budgets, production planning and cost control
- Lead employee relations, engagement and workforce planning
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and legislative standards
- Support capital investment planning and equipment optimisation
About You
You’re a hands-on operations leader who thrives in quick-paced industrial environments and knows how to get the best out of people and processes.
You will bring:
- A trade qualification or engineering background (highly regarded)
- Proven experience managing multi-shift operations in manufacturing, logistics or similar
- Leadership experience with large, diverse teams (50+ employees)
- Strong people leadership capability , including IR/ER exposure
- Commercial understanding of budgets, forecasting and cost management
- An all-rounder mindset —comfortable on the floor, in the office,
and influencing stakeholders
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
