Want your chance to make a mark on a world-class, record-breaking event? We are hiring for a Retail Staffing Coordinator to join our Commercial Team to deliver the Australian Open 2027. This is a full-time fixed-term contract from September2026 to February2027. As this is seasonal role, we require full availability and flexibility across the summer months, December–February. About the role
- Lead recruitment, training, and workforce operations for AO Stores & Logistics, including casual workforce hiring, development and delivery of training programs and materials, and management of workforce evaluations, reporting, and performance insights.
- Manage event workforce scheduling through the Rosterfy platform, including roster creation and maintenance, labour budget management and reporting, identification of cost-saving efficiencies, and approval of daily timesheets.
- Manage all workforce communications before and throughout the tournament period via email, phone, and the SafetyCulture app, while coordinating and delivering the daily Retail Incentive Program across stores.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing workforce updates to management, contributing to project WIP meetings,
and producing End of Day, post-event, and workforce evaluation reports.
- Coordinate with Tournament Operations, HR, and Internal Communications teams to ensure accurate workforce accreditation, role allocation and compliance completion, and timely delivery of retail‑specific updates through the Court Up app and email communications.
About you
- Demonstrated extensive experience in recruiting, scheduling, and managing large casual workforces (ideally 100+), including workforce planning, rostering, timesheet processing, payroll administration, and the proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to quickly build rapport and establish effective professional relationships with diverse cultural groups, Talent Acquisition teams, and external clients.
- Be a highly organised skilled with strong attention to detail and proven project management capabilities, coupled with exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
- Experience & understanding of major event / Grand Slam retail operations and event workforce management.
- Experience using the Rosterfy platform highly beneficial.
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia.
