Mechanical Supervisor

DFP Adelaide is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established Australian manufacturer with a strong global export presence. Based in their new distribution facility in Thebarton, this role is critical to ensuring smooth, efficient production operations.

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day operation of the production and assembly area. This role works hands‑on in the build process while also helping guide production staff, maintain workflow, support quality standards, and ensure machines are assembled safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

About the Role

The role is suited to someone with a mechanical background with strong practical skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example on the workshop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Assembly

- Assist with the assembly of skids, frames, hose reels, tanks, engines, pumps, burners, and related components.
- Read and follow build sheets, production instructions, parts lists, drawings, and assembly procedures.
- Ensure machines are assembled correctly, safely, and consistently.
- Carry out hands‑on production work as required to support daily output.
- Assist with testing, checking, and final preparation of machines before dispatch.
- Identify missing parts, incorrect components, or build issues early and report them to the relevant supervisor.

Supervisor Duties

- Help coordinate daily production tasks and allocate work to production staff under direction from management.
- Support newer or less experienced team members with training, guidance, and correct assembly methods.




- Monitor workflow on the floor and assist with keeping jobs moving efficiently.
- Ensure staff are following correct procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Act as a key communication point between production workers and management.
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and productive workshop environment.

About You

- Experience in a production, assembly, mechanical, manufacturing, or workshop environment.
- Strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop equipment safely.
- Valuable attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions, build sheets, and production processes.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lead by example and support others on the floor.
