Type: Contract, 6 months (potential to extend)

I'm working with a mid-tier financial services firm that's investing seriously in practical AI adoption. They are looking to bring on an experienced AI Engineer on contract to lead two connected streams of work: building agentic workflows that lift internal productivity, and exploring how AI can enhance the way they serve clients.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll design and build agentic workflows that automate and support the day-to-day work of their teams, think document processing, research and reporting tasks, and internal knowledge retrieval, reducing manual effort and freeing up staff for higher-value work. Alongside this, you'll work closely with client-facing teams to prototype and evaluate AI-driven improvements to their client service offering, from smarter self-service tools to AI-assisted advisory support. You'll be hands-on with LLM orchestration frameworks, APIs, and integrations across their existing systems, while working within the risk, compliance, and data governance standards that come with operating in financial services. You'll also partner with stakeholders across the business to identify high-impact use cases, and help set them up for responsible,



sustainable AI adoption beyond this contract.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience building agentic or LLM-based workflows in a production or near-production workplace, along with strong practical knowledge of tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or comparable frameworks, and solid API integration and orchestration skills across enterprise systems. Experience working within a regulated industry (financial services, insurance, or similar) is highly regarded, particularly an understanding of the data privacy, security, and compliance considerations that come with it. You're comfortable working autonomously in a contract capacity, able to move quickly, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and deliver working solutions rather than just proofs of concept.
