The Role

Join Nine Mile’s APAC ETF Market Making team as a Trader, based in Sydney, with a primary focus on Taiwan ETF markets and single stock futures. You’ll develop and execute trading strategies across the Taiwan market and its related derivatives as part of our market-making team.

Key responsibilities

- Developing and executing trading strategies across Taiwan-listed ETFs and single stock futures, and their underlying constituents
- Using single stock futures for hedging, basket replication, and relative value against underlying equities and ETF baskets
- Applying advanced ETF pricing models, fair value calculation, and NAV estimation across the Taiwan trading session
- Identifying and exploiting arbitrage opportunities between local ETFs, their underlying constituents, single stock futures, and related derivative instruments




- Contributing to the ongoing development of trading strategies and the traded universe across Taiwan ETF and single stock futures markets
- Researching and developing current systematic trading opportunities within Taiwan ETF and single stock futures markets
- Collaborating closely with the broader market-making team
- Designing, implementing, and enhancing algorithmic trading strategies and execution tools tailored to local market microstructure
- Proactively engaging with regulators, issuers, exchanges, and brokers across Taiwan and the wider APAC region

What You Will Bring

- 1+ years of relevant trading experience at a High-Frequency Trading or Market Making firm, ideally with exposure to ETFs, single stock futures, or Taiwan markets (or similar markets)
- Familiarity with single stock futures and/or Taiwan market structure, trading rules, and settlement conventions
- Strong knowledge of ETF mechanics, pricing, NAV calculation, index replication, creation/redemption flows, and arbitrage strategies
- Proficiency in Python
- Highly advanced capability in probability and statistics
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for financial markets, particularly systematic and quantitative trading
- Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
