We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
We currently have the following positions available, commencing as soon as possible:
- 1 Teacher – Early Childhood Education (ECE) – 6 month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency
- 1 Teacher – Primary – 6 month fixed term, full‑time position with possible extension and/or permanency
The School
Leonora District High School (DHS) is a primary and high school located in the Goldfields‑Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and has a student enrolment of 97, 79% of which are of Aboriginal heritage. Leonora DHS embeds the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework throughout the curriculum and aims to provide a culturally responsive learning environment.
The Role
Leonora DHS is seeking dedicated and dynamic Teachers to join our team with the capacity to teach students from K‑6. Suitable applicants would be teaching in a diverse educational setting and ideally have expertise in multi‑age planning and explicit teaching practices. The ability to quickly establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations and a growth mindset, while building students’ social and emotional skills, would be highly regarded.
Familiarity with evidence‑based programs such as Initial Lit, Multi Lit and Learning Through Doing would be highly regarded, along with a commitment to delivering engaging and high‑quality learning programmes that maximise student outcomes.
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment and who is eager to contribute to whole school improvement initiatives.

- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (e.g., Early Childhood Education). Only applicants in the pool possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
