Job Summary

Monitors are responsible for recording proceedings and producing an annotation or log of those proceedings to aid in the process of accurate transcription. Proceedings may take place on site in courtrooms or at client premises, or may be recorded from an Epiq office. Monitors must be able to maintain clear communication with both clients and colleagues via various channels and work collaboratively with other Court Reporting teams to facilitate the successful delivery of service for our clients.

Responsibilities

- Produce high‑quality audio recordings of hearings
- Produce high‑quality and accurate annotations of hearings
- Obtain accurate spellings of names, places, terminology, etc. to enable an accurate transcript to be produced
- Liaise with Epiq’s clients in a professional manner
- Utilize various recording technologies such as Liberty, FTR, and VIQ
- Maintain accurate records of hearing sitting times and any applicable travel times
- Upload and convert audio as required
- Travel and work outside of office locations and in regional locations to record proceedings as required
- Partake in periodic performance reviews with Monitoring Supervisor
- Partake in annual security and compliance training




- Assist with administration as required
- Other duties as directed – e.g., real‑time equipment setups, collecting audio/documents from client premises
- Ensure communications are transparent, concise, and in line with business requirements
- Foster and promote a safe and healthy work environment, maintaining safe work practices at all times and complying with Company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work outside standard business hours if required

Qualifications

- Six months to one year basic office administration experience

Your specific salary will be determined based on several factors: location‑based market rate for the role, your abilities in relation to the job specification, performance during screening and interview, and pay parity with the wider team in the considered location. Further details about the package will be provided during the initial screening call with the Talent Acquisition Team.
