Here at Amazon, we are currently seeking experienced Operations Managers to join our Customer Fulfilment team at our Fulfillment Center in Dandenong South.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the AU Fulfilment Center (FC) leadership team during its phase of expansion and growth, where you can define process flows and shape standard work routines as operations scale up.

As an Operations Manager, you’ll deliver inspiring, inclusive leadership for the teams you supervise, and also get involved whenever necessary.

You’ll be directly responsible for supervising a team of Area Managers and their direct reports, and will report to the Site Lead of your FC. The quality of your leadership is key to achievement in this role: you’ll motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work, while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with that of the business.

Another key aspect of your role will be to coordinate numerous process improvement projects, aiming to streamline activities for both yourself and the team members you supervise. The ideas and innovations you generate may be rolled out across the Amazon network.

Please note that this role follows a shift pattern of 4 nights on and 3 nights off, including working at least one weekend day. The position will initially commence on the night shift, with the likelihood of rotating to day shift after approximately 12 months in the role.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on‑site.
- Become a subject matter expert on specific, larger‑scale processes and activities within FCs.
- Handle timely data collection and update operations metrics on an hourly basis.
- Aim to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors and ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
- Work closely with other support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Security, IT) on staffing plans,

schedules and performance levels.
- Implement process change and contribute in cross‑functional Six Sigma initiatives within your site and the broader Amazon Operations network.

Basic Qualifications

- Proven leadership experience in a similar creative logistics, distribution, manufacturing or fast‑pace retail setting with multi‑site/store management experience.
- Experience building and managing large and high‑performance teams.
- Experience in employee and performance management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Experience using data to drive root‑cause analysis for making business decisions with Excel or other analytical tools.
- Availability to work nights and at least one day of the weekend.

Preferred Qualifications

- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Experience managing contingent workforce in a business with peak season.
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
