Summary
We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Supplier Chain Team Leader to join a dynamic and fast‑paced operational environment. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional who thrives in a high‑volume transactional setting, enjoys leading teams, driving process improvements, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver exceptional procurement and supply chain outcomes. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading purchasing and supply chain activities, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, and supporting operational performance through effective supplier management, inventory control and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a full‑time permanent role based out of our Collins Street office, supporting hybrid working arrangements.
About the Role
- Lead and support a team of Business Services Administrators to ensure high‑quality, timely processing of purchase orders and supplier transactions.
- Allocate workloads, monitor team performance and manage daily operational priorities.
- Provide training, mentoring and guidance on the ERP system and business processes.
- Ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA), preferred supplier arrangements and procurement policies.
- Assist supply chain and Business Services in driving functional change, continuous improvement and implementation of new processes or initiatives.
- Act as the escalation point for issues related to transactional purchasing – e.g. recurring invoice holds, supplier non‑conformance or system errors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ensure all transactional activities adhere to agreed service levels (SLAs), company policies, financial controls and audit requirements.
- Identify potential business issues and supply constraints and work with appropriate teams to develop recovery plans.
- Support implementation of new systems, tools or process changes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure smooth order processing and delivery performance.
- Coordinate with Business Services team members to conduct periodic reviews of departmental procedures and work instructions to ensure they are relevant to current processes.
- Provide transactional insights to the Supply Chain and Business Services function.
- Champion safety, quality and compliance standards across all activities.
About You
- Minimum five years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams or acting as a Team Leader, Supervisor or 2IC.
- Experience working within a high‑volume transactional setting.
- Strong hands‑on experience with ERP systems, including material forecasting, planning, inventory management and purchasing and procurement processes.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, positive and results‑focused approach.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Qualifications
- Essential – Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business or related discipline.
- Desirable – Additional procurement, logistics or supply chain certifications.
