Position Overview
Teacher at Meadowbank Public School, located in the inner west of Sydney, NSW.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver explicit and effective teaching aimed at improving student outcomes.
- Create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement evidence-based quality teaching practices.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Engage with parents and the school community to support student learning.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach K-6, with demonstrated ability to use student data to plan, assess, and deliver high-quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs. Exhibits strong curriculum knowledge that supports the success of all students, including EAL/D learners, HPGE students, Aboriginal students, and those with disability and/or additional learning needs.
- Outstanding classroom management skills and highly developed ability to create and maintain an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment, with a solid focus on student wellbeing.
- Proven capacity to work with students, staff, and parents collaboratively within a diverse and vibrant school community.
Demonstrates highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships and contribute positively to staff culture, fostering an inclusive and culturally safe school community.
- Demonstrated ability, experience, and willingness to lead a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including sporting programs, student wellbeing initiatives, and whole-school activities that support and engage students.
Conditions
Unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Applicants are required to provide their WWCC clearance number as part of the application.
