Underground Power Development (UPD) are looking for a draftsperson to work within our experienced design and engineering team supporting underground, electrical, telecommunications design within our West Perth Office.

This is a genuine entry-level opportunity for drafter who is keen to learn and grow. We are open to full (or part time) with a willingness to work around further study

Key Responsibilities

- Proficiency using AutoCAD software tools producing drawings under supervision
- Support with the preparation of engineering drawings and documentation for our clients
- Action and update drawings based on design mark-ups and drawing amendments as directed
- Assist with drawing control and revision management using our internal document system
- Apply company and regulatory drafting to Australian Standards, our drawing standards and guidelines specifically for Western Power, Horizon Power, NBN Co and Opticomm.
- Effective communication, problem-solving and organisational skills to be able to collaborate effectively with our team and clients

What we are Looking for / Minimum Position Requirements





- A completed Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting or Diploma of Engineering – Technical Drafting or currently studying a Bachelor or Master of Electrical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Essential).
- Robust attention to detail, accuracy and willingness to learn
- A positive, can‑do attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn — this role is about aptitude and attitude, not years of experience.
- Good communication and teamwork, and competent use of Microsoft Office.
- Eligibility to work in Australia
