Applus+ is currently seeking an experienced Structural Inspector for a 6-month fixed-term contract supporting inspection and integrity activities based in Sale, VIC. This position will focus on the assessment, inspection, and reporting of structural and civil infrastructure, as well as associated plant structures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.

This is a full-time contract position, with working hours typically based on a minimum 35-hour week while on duty, worked across a 9 day fortnight.

The successful candidate will ideally possess Civil Engineering qualifications and/or relevant structural inspection experience. Additional qualifications such as IRATA Rope Access and NDT certifications would be highly regarded but are not essential. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in heavy industry, oil and gas, mining, power generation, or infrastructure environments.

Duties Include:

- Conducting structural inspections and condition assessments of steel, concrete, and associated infrastructure assets.




- Preparing detailed inspection reports and recommendations in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Identifying structural defects, deterioration mechanisms, and integrity risks.
- Providing technical feedback and support to engineering and asset integrity teams.
- Assisting with inspection planning, work pack development, and maintenance prioritisation activities.
- Liaising with NDT personnel, engineers, and client representatives as required.
- Supporting audits, reviews, and asset integrity improvement initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities for asset life extension and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining a solid commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Essential Qualifications Required:

- Civil Engineering qualifications and/or AICIP, API, or NACE certifications.
- Equivalent Senior NDT Inspection experience will be considered where AICIP/API/NACE qualifications are not held.

Desirable Qualifications:

- IRATA Rope Access

Other Requirements:

- Detailed knowledge and experience in the use of applicable inspection standards and statutory regulations, including demonstrated competency in relevant methods
- Gippsland-based or willing to relocate for the project duration
- Full criminal and character background checks required
