Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities across the Canning Vale site, including the MRF (Materials Recovery Facility), FOGO processing operations, Green Waste areas, and general site infrastructure. The position ensures the secure, reliable and efficient operation of all plant and equipment through effective leadership, planning, and execution of maintenance activities. It drives maintenance strategies, oversees contractor performance, manages maintenance systems (MEX), and supports continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance and asset life.

Salary: $120,000 + Super

Responsibilities

- Leadership & team management – lead and supervise the site maintenance team, allocate work priorities, provide guidance, monitor performance, and promote safety culture.
- Maintenance strategy & planning – develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, coordinate activities to minimise downtime, lead shutdowns, and identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Plant & site maintenance oversight – oversee all maintenance activities across:
- MRF: conveyors, balers, screens, sorting equipment, and mechanical systems
- FOGO: processing equipment, shredders, conveyors, aeration systems
- Green Waste: mobile equipment and associated infrastructure
- General site: buildings, lighting, drainage, utilities, roads and civil works

- Maintenance system (MEX) & data management – own and manage the site maintenance system, ensure accurate recording of work orders and asset data, drive discipline and reporting, analyse data to identify trends and support reporting and KPIs.
- Safety & compliance – ensure all activities comply with WHS legislation, conduct risk assessments, manage permit systems,



support incident investigations and root cause analysis, and maintain safe workplace.
- Contractor & supplier management – manage contractors and service providers, assess safety and performance, liaise with suppliers for parts and technical support, and assist procurement efforts.
- Financial & asset management – manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenditure, identify cost-saving opportunities, support capital planning, asset lifecycle management and business case development for upgrades.
- Continuous improvement & projects – lead or support capital projects, upgrades, process improvements, root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring failures, and improve maintenance processes, systems and standards across the site.

Key Skills & Experience

- Strong experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments (recycling, processing or heavy industry).
- Proven leadership of maintenance teams.
- Experience across mechanical, electrical and automated plant systems.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning and reliability principles.
- Experience using CMMS systems (MEX or similar).
- Experience managing contractors, budgets and maintenance operations.
- Strong project management, problem-solving and decision-making capability.

Qualifications

- Trade qualification (Electrical) or relevant engineering qualification.
- Electrical or Electrical Engineering qualification highly regarded.
- Additional qualifications in maintenance, reliability or leadership advantageous.
- Proven experience with SCADA and industrial automation systems (Honeywell, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Wonderware or similar) highly desirable.
