Hail Creek, a Glencore operation, offers a 16‑month maternity leave coverage role for an experienced Environment and Community Advisor. The position is part of a broad, highly regarded environmental and social performance program that enhances compliance, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement across the mine.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive and highly involved Cultural Heritage program.
- Manage onsite biodiversity offset areas and associated monitoring obligations.
- Administer community funding and grant programs.
- Maintain environmental monitoring, reporting and compliance systems.
- Support GIS mapping, spatial data management and environmental planning.
- Coordinate pest and weed management activities.
- Manage community and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee ground disturbance activities across both operations and exploration.
- Supervise and manage specialist contractors.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of Hail Creek’s environmental management systems in partnership with operational teams, Traditional Owners, community stakeholders, regulators and technical specialists.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environmental and community role.
- Proven experience in environmental management, and a solid understanding of environmental legislation and community liaison.
- Visible leadership and solid influential communication skills.
- Mining industry experience is highly desirable but not essential.
